TRAVEL DIARY: TRIESTE
Trieste is very popular among Slovenes, we like to go there just on an Italian coffee or shopping trip. In the past, it was called: Window to the world since many ships sailed to the world from its port and many saw it as an opportunity for a better life. Many Slovenes actually live there as well and in the past things there were much cheaper as in Yugoslavia, so it's well-known shopping destination. But now it offers much more than just shopping.

I found out that it was listed on the list of world's most underrated travel destinations and I totally agree. But recently I'm seeing more and more tourists that decide to extend their trip to Italy to this part as well. Still, tourists are mostly Slovenes, Austrians and Croats since we are very close.
- Piazza Unità d'Italia
- Ponterosso
- Castle of Saint Giusto
- Miramare Castle
- The ruins of the Amphitheater
And don't forget to go on espresso and pasta! :)
